These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PrepMate ("Service"), operated by PrepMate ("we," "our," or "us"). By using PrepMate, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

PrepMate is an AI-powered interview preparation tool that helps you practice for job interviews by:

• Generating personalized interview questions based on your resume
• Providing answer frameworks using the STAR method
• Offering practice mode with AI feedback (Pro only)
• Tracking your progress and improvement over time (Pro only)

2. Payment & Refund Policy

PrepMate offers two plans:

• Free Plan: 1 question generation per month, with basic features
• Pro Plan: $5.99 one-time payment for lifetime access to unlimited generations, practice mode, AI feedback, progress tracking, and PDF downloads

No Refunds: Due to the instant digital nature of our service and the immediate delivery of your lifetime license key upon payment, all purchases are final and non-refundable. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree to this no-refund policy.

License Keys: After purchasing Pro, you will receive a unique license key (e.g., PM-A3F7K9W2). Save this key immediately, as it is required to restore your Pro access if you clear your browser data or switch devices.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PrepMate only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
• Share your Pro license key with others (each key is for individual use only)
• Use the Service to generate harmful, discriminatory, or illegal content
• Attempt to abuse, exploit, or circumvent our free tier limits
• Overload our servers with excessive automated requests

4. AI-Generated Content

No Guarantee of Accuracy: PrepMate uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) to generate interview questions and feedback. While we strive for quality, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or biases. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all content before using it in actual interviews.

Not Career Advice: PrepMate is a practice tool, not professional career counseling. We do not guarantee job offers, interview success, or any specific outcomes from using our Service.

5. Data & Privacy

Your use of PrepMate is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

• We process your resume and job descriptions to generate questions
• Data is sent to Anthropic's API for AI processing
• We do not store your resume or interview answers on our servers
• All data is stored locally in your browser

6. Intellectual Property

Our Content: PrepMate's interface, design, code, and branding are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our Service without permission.

Your Content: You retain ownership of your resume and any content you upload. By using PrepMate, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service.

AI-Generated Content: Interview questions and feedback generated by PrepMate are provided for your personal use. You may use them freely to prepare for interviews.

7. Limitation of Liability

AS-IS SERVICE: PrepMate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific needs.

NO LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use or inability to use PrepMate
• Interview outcomes or job search results
• Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
• Loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities
• Any other matter related to the Service

MAXIMUM LIABILITY: Our total liability to you for any claims related to PrepMate shall not exceed the amount you paid us (i.e., $5.99 for Pro users, $0 for Free users).

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to PrepMate at any time, without notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent payment or chargebacks
• Abusive behavior or misuse of the Service
• Any conduct we deem harmful to PrepMate or other users

No refunds will be provided upon termination for violations.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of PrepMate after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Victoria, Australia.
